Furst Draft
It started with realizing I had over a terabyte of unfinished projects on my hard drive and the subsequent overwhelming regret.
For years, I had ideas I never acted on—videos I never posted, short essays I never published, and photos I never shared. Like many people, I felt the weight of perfection before I'd even begun. And for a long time, that was enough to stop me.
But eventually, in the words of Sammy Davis Jr… something’s gotta give.
2025
I started this site, Furst Draft, to serve as my own personal corner of the internet, built to house all kinds of projects and to explore what’s possible when you stop waiting and just start. It’s about taking the leap—messy, unsure, and unpolished. This is a space that celebrates imperfect starts and ongoing growth.
William Pinckard
Hi, I’m William—Texas‑born, curiosity‑driven, and always a work in progress. You’ll usually find me exercising, enjoying the outdoors, with a camera in hand, or some combination of those three.
I love a good challenge and that’s a big part of why I started this site. Here, I write about my own attempts, experiments, and lessons. I share stories of progress, not perfection.
If you’re drawn to imperfect starts, lifelong learning, and turning “one day” into “day one,” you’re in good company. Here’s to showing up!
